| Victoria Faiella never questioned
her hearts desire to sing, study and compose music. Born and
raised in New York, she began her professional career in her
early teens, working as a singer-for-hire and at the same time
exploring her own unique musical style, sound and voice. Her
intimate vocals and moody evocative songs convey the honesty
of an open diary and the mystery of coded poetry. A voice that
delivers the same intensity, whether whaling or whispering,
Victoria has developed a sound that summons the complete gamete
of human emotion.
Victoria studied voice at the State University of New York
at Stony Brook and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.
Influenced by music in all genres she began writing songs
with renewed inspiration. At this time she also paired with
songwriter Dave Diamond to form the band Satya (Hindi for
truth). With
a shared passion and
vision, Satya quickly became a critically revered band in
the New York City club circuit, opening up for acts like
Todd Rundgren and Dave Davies. The band received special
recognition in 1998 when they were one of 20 bands chosen
to perform in the Lillith Fair Talent Search competition
in New York.
In 1999 Victoria accompanied Latin Superstar Enrique Iglesias
on his Cosas del Amor World Tour as a background vocalist
and was featured opposite him on the powerful and romantic
duet “Esperiencia Religiosa”. Other standout
performances included “LLuvia Cae” in which the
Boston Globe commented that “…Victoria Faiella
brought the house down.” During
her travels, Victoria has shared the stages with the likes
of Alanis Morissette, Lenny Kravitz, Jewel, Robbie Williams,
Donna Summer, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira as well as many others.
The year 2000 brought Victoria overseas where she recorded
a full length solo album entitled “Drama” on
Sony/Epic records in Germany. Her original compositions have
been featured in independent films and documentaries nationally
and internationally. With an ever growing discography, Victoria
can be found on compilation CD’s all over the world.
From movie soundtracks to the stage, Victoria is continually
exploring new avenues of expression. Since 2001 Victoria’s
voice has been featured as the female lead in New York City's
Off-Broadway Show “Mindfreak”. Currently Victoria
is working with producer Michael Phillip Costanzo. With
a unique blend of rock and soul, the resulting project is
a sonic journey into the heart of the human spirit…a
world in which darkness and beauty coincide and collide.
